Measurement instructions
To make finding the right clothes with us as comfortable an experience as possible, we carefully measure each part in various ways.
On this page we explain how and where we take these measurements. So there's no more guesswork about whether a size S is really a size S or if an XL is actually an L.
To find your perfect size, take a jacket, trousers, etc., that fits you well, lay it flat on a table, and measure the chest, waist, waistband, and hips from left to right, as well as the length from top to bottom (across the center back of shirts and jackets and along the outside of the side seam of trousers and skirts). Then, compare these measurements with the ones we provide. This way, you can order clothes that fit you perfectly in no time!
Our measurements in the descriptions are always taken from left to right on the garment laid flat. To determine the circumference, multiply by 2.
- Chest width is measured from left to right across the garment when laid flat (circumference = x2). We always measure at the bottom of the sleeve seam (if the sleeves are lower, the measurement may be slightly below the actual chest height).
- The waist is measured at the narrowest part of the top/jacket or torso from left to right (circumference = x2).
- We measure the hips approximately 20 cm below the waist (measured at the side). If you want to determine your hip measurement with a measuring tape, measure your hips at the widest point of the bottom. It's best to place the measuring tape and move it slightly up or down until you find the widest point. That's your hip measurement. To compare it with our measurements, divide it by 2.
- The waist measurement is taken flat from left to right (circumference = x2). For elastic waistbands, we indicate both the unstretched measurement and the maximum stretched measurement. For the elastic waistband pants to fit you well, your waist measurement should fall between the unstretched and stretched measurements.
- We measure the sleeve seam where it joins the body (circumference = x2). We only take this measurement for deeper sleeves/cut-off shoulders.
- We measure the length of the t-shirts at the center of the back (without the collar).
- We measure the length of the pants and skirts on the outside of the side seam.
- In the case of shoes, we measure the insole, if there is one, with the insole inserted.
